Created for Harper's Bazaar Vietnam, this editorial explores contemporary fashion through sculptural silhouettes, rich interiors, and cinematic lighting. Each look was designed to balance editorial storytelling with commercial polish.
Building an Editorial Identity
Editorial photography isn't about creating a single strong image. It's about creating a visual language that remains consistent from the first frame to the last. Every wardrobe change, location, and expression has to feel like it belongs to the same story.
For this project, we wanted each look to reveal a different side of Star2 while keeping the photographs connected through color, composition, and atmosphere. The result became a series that felt cohesive enough for publication while allowing every image to stand on its own.
Fashion Meets Portraiture
Although the styling plays an important role throughout the editorial, the portraits were never meant to become advertisements for the clothing. The fashion supports the subject rather than replacing it.
Luxury garments, tailored silhouettes, and bold color create visual impact, but the strongest photographs still depend on expression, posture, and restraint. That balance is what gives editorial portraiture its lasting quality.
